Shyamal says “Gujarat has a rich history to draw inspiration from. Take for example monuments like Siddi Saiyed ni jaali, or why go that far, my family has been in this state for 200 years, many of my projects are based purely on the fabric and design repertoire of my family.
“Moreover, I have used Rambhadi art, Kutchi embroidery, block printing and other such regional arts in my collections over a period of time, which have won laurels at various instances.”
