Who said fashion was practical? Fashion designer Kiran Uttam Ghosh lavished her show with silks at the Lakme Fashion Week, Mumbai, yesterday.
“It is essentially an Indian touch line in which I have tried to mix different fabrics in the silhouettes,” says Ghosh. “The collection has borrowed a lot from menswear, sportswear but ends up as a strikingly different, super chic women wear.”
But some fashion buyers didn’t see the practical side. “When you showcase your clothes for autumn/winter, you need to go heavy on sweaters, woollen jackets and coats,” said Sukhjeet Kaur Bharj, a buyer from Norway.
Yes, but hamsters hibernate and wrap up warm for winter. Fashionistas don’t.
