Monsoon can blind you with print this season but look hard enough and you can uncover some gems. We lick this embroidered dress that doesn’t kill us with colour.

Oh how we laugh at marvellooos minx Creative Director Wilhelmina Slater on Mode magazine in Ugly Betty. Wilhi has gone all Vera Wang for her wedding to Bradford Meade and it’s put us in the mood to sparkle for Christmas.
Think how you would turn heads in this copper pleated duchess satin skirt with beaded panel. Even Victoria Beckham can’t outshine you when you are best-dressed in this.

Spring fashion is upon us on the catwalk and 40s fabulousness is everywhere.

Flappers roared back to life on the Spring runways. Rodarte’s Kate and Laura Mulleavy paired Daisy Buchanan-worthy hats with a number of ensembles that would’ve made Coco look twice. Read more here at Style.com

Big belts are the hot trend this season but you can work the look in different ways.
This Jasmine Guinness chiffon prom dress uses a stitched-through satin waistband to nail the look. Think Scarlett O’Hara with 21st century attitude.

The hot fashion book fresh off the press this month is: 60 Years Of Style: from Christian Dior to John Galliano, £59.40
We can’t wait to flick through the high-gloss pages to see the likes of design gods Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan and Gianfranco Ferre and the supreme John Galliano.

If the Burton-Taylor diamond is out of your price range, dazzle in these silver gunmetal chandelier earrings instead.
Like-diamond details: Erickson Beamon earrings have three drop Swarovski crystal tiers, a plated brass chain, a rectangular Swarovski crystal, two pear drop shaped and one circular shaped Swarovski crystal detailing with the fastening on the back.
Something for the wishlist: Erickson Beamon earrings, £220Â

Accessorise well and all will be forgiven, is our fashion rule for Wednesday. Taylor was gloriously over-the-top but no diamond ever outshone the star.
We’ll look at some sparkling looks over the next few posts you might want to consider…
We love the great big jewel book by Elizabeth Taylor. It profiles the film star’s collection of jewels, providing descriptions of her most noteworthy pieces and describing their representation of particular relationships and events in her life.

If you had to choose the Christmas cover, what would it be? Vanity Fair Julia or Vogue Sienna Miller? This is a tough one because the covers couldn’t be more different for all the right reasons.
We are going for Julia – only because full-length cover shots are notoriously difficult to pull off even with the glam injection from a D&G dress (sorry Sienna).
And it is hard to beat our all-time fave Christmas Vogue cover – Kylie in a cocktail glass. See this cover, somewhere below.
Julia
