Who said fashion was practical? Fashion designer Kiran Uttam Ghosh lavished her show with silks at the Lakme Fashion Week, Mumbai, yesterday.
“It is essentially an Indian touch line in which I have tried to mix different fabrics in the silhouettes,” says Ghosh. “The collection has borrowed a lot from menswear, sportswear but ends up as a strikingly different, super chic women wear.”
But some fashion buyers didn’t see the practical side. “When you showcase your clothes for autumn/winter, you need to go heavy on sweaters, woollen jackets and coats,” said Sukhjeet Kaur Bharj, a buyer from Norway.

Never a shade out of place or unwelcome crease even after a rowdy match with a raucous crowd looking on. The girl does perfection in purple well. And don’t you see how VB is stealing the limelight more than ever from DB? Star power has shifted.
